It is with great sadness that I bring you this news...
Laura S. Rasmussen, was wrapped in the love of her husband, children, and grandchildren when she passed to be with her Lord, family, and friends on May 13, 2009 in Caldwell, ID. Mom was the third child born to James C. Havens and Irma B. Overlander in Los Angeles, CA on November 1, 1933. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just 7 months ago and in that short time mom made the absolute best of her remaining days and faced treatment for her cancer with her usual positive attitude. An accomplished watercolor artist, lampworker, published author, and jewelry designer, mom shared her artistic talent with all of her children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and sister Barbara, mom is survived by her brother Sanford (Izzy), husband and our dad, Bill Rasmussen, children Patti (Ray), Judi, Kirsti (Gary), Tami (Kent), and Russell (Karen), grandchildren Patrick, Brandee, Tyler, Brian, Troy, Kailee, Eric, and Emily, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces. Laura’s family would like to thank everyone at Nampa MSTI and the St. Luke’s Hospice team for the excellent care you provided to her and for becoming such an important part of our lives, and to Chaplin Alex and Father Flores for your loving support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in mom's name to support pancreatic cancer research or Laguna Beach High School Art Department so that another artist in waiting may have the opportunity to discover their love of art. A celebration of Laura’s life will be announced at a later date.

Finally, I am taking time to put some new items up in the Buyables.
These flowers are designed specifically for seed beaders who like to do surface embellishments. As you can see these flowers have a hole in the center of the bead. Click on the Buyables and then click on beads, you'll find these over there.

NEW ITEMS ON THE SCULPTURE PAGE. THESE WILL BE THE FOCUS OF BILL'S NEW CLASS ON OFF MANDREL SCULPTURE FOR BEADMAKDERS. CHECK OUT OUR CLASS SCHEDULE PAGE FOR A CLASS NEAR YOU.
Right now you'll get to see a part of our new studio. Pix include what our backyard studio looks like from the outside with our new deck and unplanted planter. The next pic is my glass storage chest that Bill built for me and the third is just showing you how my glass is stored in the drawers. All of the drawers are full of Moretti, Bullseye, Lauscha, Check and colored boro. The colored boro is Bill's, but will soon be moved to his new storage on the other side. His moving out of my chest of drawers will free up more space for me to buy more glass. In the near future I'll show you some pix of my workbench, when it's cleaner and the cold working stuff.
